Maris here! Did you notice I haven't been around? Well, all of a sudden, last Sunday, I was minding my own business and doing my usual thing... grooming Piper so much that she threatened to kick my bum if I didn't ease off... and I went all funny. Mom and dad looked at me and their eyes were bulging. Mom lay me on my back with my legs in the air (the indignity of it all) and did some tests on my feet, and then she said it was a stroke. I thought a stroke was the nice thing I got on my head when I was good, but no! Strokes can be bad things. I couldn't move an inch so mom had to hold me up so I could have my chocolate pudding and soya milk. Then on Monday, when I wasn't looking, mom poked me with a needle! It had steroids in it, which are good for you according to mom and dad. I started to be able to crawl around on Tuesday and by Thursday I could lean on the bowl and eat my pudding all by myself. Mom and dad made lots of noise, and might have clapped a bit... they're soppy like that. I can almost reach my bum with my nose again now, which is something not even Piper can do these days (because her bum has expanded beyond her reach), and I can clean my lug'oles without help. And as you can see, I can clean my own feet! Mom and dad keep on telling me I'm really brave and beautiful, but I could have told them that! So that's why I've been so quiet... I had a stroke, but not the good kind that comes with a tickle and a chocolate nibble.
