I had another first interview today. It went badly, I made rookie mistakes, and, to top it off, I felt that there wasn’t a good match between their needs and my background anyway. So, overall, was it a waste of time? Possibly, but at the same time, maybe not. It just shows that I have become over-confident. I prepared heavily for the meeting and was certain I had all the bases covered. I didn’t. Ah well, I will be better prepared next time! :)
As a former manager used to say, ‘Keep kissing the frogs!’. How very true, the hunt continues, the strong pace is the same, I will keep moving forward until I find the right role.
On a very happy note, Gina’s writing just goes from strength to strength. Her current project is almost complete. I am so very proud of her.
We are also still over the moon about the response she received from readers in Birmingham at the Borders book signing for The Wonderful Demise of Benjamin Arnold Guppy, breaking her old sales record at Waterstone’s flagship store at Bath by a good percentage.
Talking of Waterstone’s Bath, if you hadn’t seen the original blog that Gina posted about it, please have a mooch if you get a chance. The link is here, it was a fabulous day, with an exciting and surprise ending, courtesy of one of our most favouritest (I know, it’s one of my made-up words) people in the whole wide world, Clare.
This store is also one of our most favourite places in the whole world too and they have invited Gina back for another signing of The Wonderful Demise of Benjamin Arnold Guppy at the end of this month! Hurrah!!!
If you would like to have a mooch at the first chapter of this delightful dark comedy, the link is here.
I love it, not that I’m biased at all of course, hehe, but you don’t have to take my word for it. There are fabulous reviews to be found at Gina’s website too. :
Anyway, that’s it for my blog today. Fabulous news about Gina and as for me, a lesson learned and I will just keep on kissing the frogs. :)
